              A REVIEW OF THE 2012 TROPICAL CYCLONE SEASON

                         FOR THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE


     Following is a tabular summary of all the tropical depressions,
  tropical storms, hurricanes, typhoons and warned systems which 
  occurred in the Northern Hemisphere between 1 January and 
  31 December 2012, as reported in the Monthly Global Tropical 
  Cyclone Summaries.

 NOTES:
(1) System was a non-tropical low or possibly a subtropical system
(2) Tropical or subtropical low.
(3) System was "warned" Aug 10-11 and Aug 18-19.  System was an open wave
    between Aug 12 and Aug 17.
(4) Nadine was operationally a tropical distrubance, depression, tropical storm, 
    hurricane, tropical storm, subtropical storm, extratropical system, tropical 
    storm hurricane, tropical storm, then an extratropical storm during it's lifetime.
    Refer to NHC for post storm analysis.
(5) Sandy operationally was declared a Post Tropical Cyclone (extratropical) on
    Oct 29 at 2300.  The final National Hurricane Center was issued Oct 30 at 0300.

 (8)  System numbered Depression 01w on Jan 3, 2013 and official JTWC records
      will list that as a Jan. 2013 system.
